Switchable USB and LED light accessible from the top bunk!
This replaces one the A/C vent right above the slider giving you added USB power points in a very handy location plus an LED area light for the lower passenger area. Now available with your choice of LEDs: 2 White, 2 Red, or 1 of each.
**Please note that the brown option is NOT a match for the VW brown interior.
Please note:
- USE A PROPERLY SIZED FUSE (NOT SUPPLIED) WHEN INSTALLING!
- Components are supplied by various manufacturers.
- This custom-made product is exempt from the right of withdrawal in the EU.
Basic Electrical Schematic:
General Install Instructions:
- I ran a new fused power wire from the Aux battery up the B Pillar.
- Unscrew the fasteners holding up the headliner.
- Run wire across and tuck inside the headliner and into the vent channel above the slider.
- Remove stock vent above slider.
- Install a ground screw at a spot close to the Upper Bunk PowerPod®.
- Connect wiring as per the basic schematic above. (Wiring is really up to you, it depends on how you’d like it to operate.)
- Test the unit to make sure that it functions as you intend.
- Reinstall all of the screws that you removed.

I am using this unit in the first vent position front of van. When standing at the side door facing in I can reach up and turn on a light. The two USB are available to anyone in the upper bunk. It also works well with the Buese Shelf. providing a power source for items on the shelf. The fit is perfect in this position. One note, I also have a USB and level version in the rear vent position. This one required some adaption to fit as the USB unit was two long to fit. I used a spacer on the front and bent the rear tabs 90 percent to fit. It now looks and works great. It would have fit easily in the front vent position without modification. I use this second pod for charging items resting on the upper bonk when top up and bunk folded back. Easy access to items and chords out of the way. I also appreciate that the USB has an off and on switch great products
